Are you asking yourself, is CashGem.co a Scam? If so then you are in the right place. CashGem is one of the new online money-making opportunities on the internet and has been getting quite a bit if attention. You might have gotten a message on social media seen a YouTube video and want to know if it is legit.
I have done a fair bit of research into this platform and in this review, I will be sharing all that I uncovered about CashGem with you.
CashGem.co Review Summary
CashGem is a data-harvesting platform that is designed to trick you in to giving up your personal data, which they then sell of to marketing companies. There are a lot of signs that make it easy to tell that they are not legit. They have a lot of information on their website, which is simply not true. From how long the company has been around, to all of the companies that they work with.
They make you go through the process of giving up your personal data, and when it is time to withdraw the money you have made, you won’t be able to. There is also the high risk of giving up your personal information which will be sold of to possibly unethical entities.
CashGem.co is a blatant scam and you should stay away from them if you value your time and the safety of your personal data.
What is CashGem.co?
CashGem is an online company that uses the Get Paid To (GPT) model where you subscribers do small tasks and get paid in return. They call themselves “The Number 1 Cashing Platform” and assert that many of the top influencers on Instagram likely work for them.
The sell here is that you can earn money from anywhere but simply doing tasks on social media and referring other people onboard.
The company lists its address as Utrecht in the Netherlands. They say that they have been around since, 2015 and show timeline of the company’s history over the last 4 years. A domain registration check, however, shows that the domain was registered in March 16, 2020.
How Does CashGem.co work?
To be a part of CashGem, you have to sign up on website. The sign up process is quite straightforward, and all you need is an email address and a unique username. This can be done on either the computer, or on a smart device like a cellphone or tablet.
On the sign up page it says that you will get a $30 bonus just for signing up.
The way you are told you will make money after signing up is by referring more people onto the platform. You are given a referral link, which is under the stats on the dashboard.
If you refer someone and they join through your referral link, you are supposed to earn 15% for that. If they only click the link, the reward for that is $2
Once you have signed up and logged in, you will be in your dashboard that will show your stats. This includes your clicks on your referral link, referrals, number of tasks you have completed and how much you have earned.
The dashboard has integrated widgets that let you share to all the social media platforms such as Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter and Instagram.
The second way to make money is through what they call the Cash Wall. This is the GPT aspect of CashGem.
The way GPT works is that marketing company outsource data collection to other companies, in this instance, GashGem. To do this, people who sign up have to do tasks like completing surveys, downloading apps and similar tasks.
Can You Make Money With CashGem?
The quick simple here is no you can’t. CashGem uses a GPT model to make money from users but the users don’t get paid. If you have worked on other GPT and survey sites, you will know that the amounts that the pay there are very small. A survey that would take you 40 minutes to complete often pays around $1.00.
CashGem lists unusually high prices for the tasks, which go as high as $45.
So what happens is that you will spend hours doing those tasks and referring people, and then see “your earnings” increase. The problem comes when it is time for you to get paid.
When you make a withdrawal, CashGem will take you through the fake process of paying out through PayPal or whatever you use. You will be told that there is a 30-day waiting period before you get your money and the money will never reach you.
But CashGem will get the money for the work that you have done. The will have stolen your data, wasted your time, and probably gotten even more referrals from you who they will do the same thing to.
Proof of Earnings Confirmed as Fake – On the website, they have pictures which are proof of earnings. The date on the proof image shows January 2020 but the domain for CashGem was only registered on March 16, 2020. Whoever posted the proof on social media is also blurred out. So somehow, people were managing to make money and post the proof to social media before the platform itself even existed.
Lying About Features and Association – CashGem claims to be associated with big household brands from Amazon to McDonalds. They also claim that they have been features on Forbes and Yahoo News. Another blatant lie that you can get to the bottom of by doing a simple google search.
Fake Team – The company has put up a team of people on their website. These are in fact not real people. The photos are stock images of people who have nothing to do with the company and were pulled off the internet, while the names of the people were simply fabricated. So essentially, there is no real person who can be traced to this company.
Too Good To Be True – CashGem promises ludicrously how amounts for tasks, as much as 50 times what other similar GPT sites pay. As the saying goes, if it looks too good to be true, it usually. Think about it, if you could make $45 in 5 minutes or $1000 a day just by posting links online, why wouldn’t everybody be rushing there to make this easy money?
Barely 1 Month Old Company – The platform is barely 1 month old but they have a 5-year time line of achievements on their website. This is an obvious lie. Additionally, companies like this never last long. They cheat people and then they disappear after a few months when the authorities catch up to them or they can’t get more people because everybody knows that they are fraudulent.
There are no pros to using CashGem. There are some platforms out there that are shady but some people can still use to make money from. CashGem is a total waste of time and there has not been a report of a single person having been able to withdraw the money they are owed.
No Payouts – CashGem uses the classical tactic of data harvesting scams. They make you waste your time doing all these tasks which they will make money for, and then when it comes time for you to get paid, you are not able to withdraw the imaginary money that you have earned on the platform.
Data At Risk – Personal data is sensitive and very valuable in this day and age. The harvesting of data in such an unethical manner puts you at a very high risk. Think about all the valuable things in your left that are hidden behind your online passwords.
Reputational Risk With Referrals – The referral based nature of CashGem puts additional people at risk. Before you share things with your friends and family, you have to at least be sure that whatever you are referring them to is reputable and will not risk you getting a bad reputation with those people that you share that information with.
Is CashGem.co a Scam?
CashGem is definitely a scam. They are simply a data harvesting company and they make their money through tricking people to give up their sensitive personal information and selling it off.
Virtually all of the information on their website is a bald-faced lie. From when the company was actually created, to the management team that does not exist, and the fact that they will not pay out any money. Many people have reported on forums like reddit that they spent hours doing tasks to earn money and not a single person has received a payment.
The biggest risk to using CashGem is putting your sensitive personal data in the hands of an unethical company. Many people use same password across the internet, and if it ends up in the wrong hands, it can cost you more than you bargained for.
If you don’t want to waste your time or put your data at risk, you are better off avoiding a scam like CashGem. There are far better options which are legitimate to make money online.
